Experience and Education

Scott works with clients to provide comprehensive wealth plans that include private wealth management and retirement planning services.

Prior to joining Mariner, Scott was the CEO and majority owner of Savant Investment Group. Prior to that, he was director of research for Atlantic Asset Management where he focused on managing tactical asset management and synthetic equity strategies. In other previous roles, Scott was CIO for an online investment advising company and managing director of consulting services for Ibbotston Associates. He began his career as an associate professor of finance at Texas A&M University.

Scott has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a Ph.D. in management (financial economics) from Purdue University.

Personal Interests

Scott is an internationally renowned award-winning playwright with over 40 productions worldwide. He has served on the board for Sonoma County Day School and 6th Street Playhouse.
